A Brief History of Quality Hardware Corporation
Quality Hardware Corporation originated as Quality Wholesale Hardware in 1989. The company's founder saw the opportunity to serve the needs of glass and glazing contractors for high-quality glass and aluminum door hardware. He established the company in Ferndale, Michigan, later moving to an office and warehouse in nearby Hazel Park.
In 1998, Rob Bowden was working in the door hardware industry when he joined Quality Wholesale Hardware in a sales position. Rob and his wife Tracy Bowden bought the company in 2001 and changed the name to Quality Hardware Corporation.
In October 2002, Tracy Bowden came to work full-time at Quality Hardware. Rob continues to handle the sales aspects of the operation, while Tracy is responsible for office and financial administration.
In 2005, to accommodate the company’s growth, Quality Hardware moved to a larger office and warehouse in Warren, Michigan. It's here that the Bowdens and the company's five full-time employees go the extra mile for customers, every business day.
Quality Hardware Corporation is certified as a women-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
